Summer programs have begun (and been paid for) at the girls' school. Cameron has field trips every Monday and Thursday. Brenna has a field trip on either Tuesday or Friday. Both girls have swimming on Tuesday afternoons and Cameron has golf on Wednesday morning.
This is their first full week at summer school. In the car on the way home tonight Cameron says, "Mom, can I have a gameboy?"
I'm thinking, Uh-oh, here we go. Because just the other day I was thinking how nice it was that our girls don't really know what these hand-held toys are. The extent of their "computer time" is Webkinz, Nick Jr., Noggin, and some Screen Actor Guild website that reads books aloud. Brenna is glued to it during her computer time.
"Where have you seen a gameboy?" I ask, knowing full well that she's seen it at summer school. The sign says Gameboys allowed Mon, Tues, and Wed. only. (Board games on Thurs and book or show&tell on Friday.)
"I've seen-like-20! Everyone has one." (Some thinking) "Well, maybe 15. Can I have one please? I want a square one. Can we go to Target tonight and get one?"
I suppose it was inevitable.
We did not go to Target. But, does anyone know what the "square" gameboy is and what it might cost so I know how much to make her work for the money?
